How to choose the magnetized direction for magnetic packing Box?


The magnetization in the thickness direction(for example D8*2 mm magnet, magnetized through 2mm, like L20*10*1 mm magnet, magnetized through 1 mm) of the magnet is one of the key factors that determine its magnetic performance, which directly affects the magnet's adsorption method, magnetic circuit design and actual application effect.


The magnetic poles are distributed on the two largest planes of the magnet (such as the upper and lower surfaces of the disc).

Adsorption characteristics: suitable for face-to-face adsorption (such as the adsorption of the gift box lid and the box body), concentrated magnetic force, and strong effective adsorption.

How to check the magnetic strength?

1. Gaussmeter (Teslameter)

Principle: Directly measure the magnetic induction intensity on the surface of the magnet (unit: Gauss Gs or Tesla T, 1T=10,000Gs).

Steps:

-Place the probe of the Gaussmeter vertically close to the surface of the magnet (make sure it is consistent with the magnetization direction).

-Read the peak magnetic induction intensity (such as NdFeB is usually 1,000~1,500mT, ferrite is 200~400mT).

Note:

The probe distance needs to be fixed during measurement (usually within 1mm).

Measure several points (the edge and center of the magnet may be different).

2. Fluxmeter (measuring magnetic flux)

Principle: measure the total magnetic flux of the magnet (unit: Maxwell Mx or Weber Wb), reflecting the overall magnetism.

Steps:

-Place the magnet in the Helmholtz coil of the fluxmeter.

-Quickly pull out the magnet and read the magnetic flux value.

Applicable scenarios: factory batch inspection or high-precision requirements.


3. Magnet Tension Meter (professional adsorption force test)

Principle: directly measure the pulling force required to separate the magnet from the iron plate (unit: N or kgf).

Steps:

-Adsorb the magnet on a standard iron plate (such as 10mm thick low-carbon steel).

-Use the tensile meter to pull vertically and record the maximum separation force.

Data reference:

NdFeB N35: about 6kg/cm²; N52: about 9kg/cm².

Ferrite Y30: about 1kg/cm².
